Food for the soul/fuel for the movement

2011 CCPHA Annual Luncheon Banner

You are invited to CCPHA’s annual fundraising luncheon, Food for the Soul, Fuel for the Movement, on October 24 from noon to 2:00 at the JW Marriott at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.  October 24 is national Food Day and we will feature a locally-sourced, healthy meal in celebration of Food Day.  We will be honoring three individuals who share our dedication to making California a healthier place:

  • Dr. Francine Kaufman - introduced by actress Amy Brenneman
  • Anthony Thigpenn - introduced by labor leader Maria Elena Durazo
  • U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis introduced by California Endowment, President and CEO, Dr. Robert Ross

These awardees will participate in an engaging conversation moderated by Robby Kenner, producer/director of the Academy Award nominee film, Food Inc.

Speaker John A. Perez will present awards to seven exemplary community leaders: the Honorable Marlen Garcia, Veva Isla-Hooker, the Honorable Jan Perry, Claudia Pila, Dana Richardson, Matt Sharp and Paul Zykofsky.

Join us to celebrate the hard work that all of us do to make healthy eating and physical activity a reality for all Californians.
