Youth are raising their voices for gun control. Will policy makers listen . . . and act?

Youth are raising their voices for gun control. Will policy makers listen . . . and act?

“There is no human circumstance more tragic than the persisting existence of a harmful condition for which a remedy is readily available.”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We honor the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.  They are public health advocates of the highest level. In the midst of their unimaginable grief, these courageous and eloquent students have rallied together and formed the #NeverAgain Movement.

Public Health Advocates stands behind the Douglas High School Students, their call for new gun control legislation, and the new national movement to put an end to mass school shootings once and for all.

History shows that student-led movements are often the most powerful.  Remember Birmingham?  As youth prepare for the March 24th, “March for Our Lives” in Washington, D.C., others around the country are planning similar marches in their cities.  Let’s stand together to end this “persisting existence of a harmful condition” so that our children will no longer fear for their lives when they go to school.
